Purpose
For a long time, Rick was a regular contributor to a continual line of releases from various artists at Upper Room Music., Creating arrangements for, and providing keyboards, horns and incredible vocals for many of our clients.
When he had enough songs of his own to create his first solo project, we began what he called “the summer of Rick” He took one entire summer to create this album. Tim Kelly produced, did some of Rick’s engineering with assistance from Xander Macnab, but Rick did the lion’s share by himself! We installed a full remote control and mixer in the recording room so he didn’t have to run back and forth to the control room when working without an engineer.
Purpose was recorded in our central Florida studio and mastered at Capitol Records in Hollywood CA.
The album is Rick’s own mix of pop, jazz and contemporary Christian. His detailed and powerful arrangements and performances, along with his versatile vocals are a musical work of art.
Another Year
After a few years, armed with new songs and even more impressive technical recording skills, Rick returns to the studio to bring us another collection of great original songs. Using top players to further inspire great performances, this album has increased texture and a definite deep groove all the way though.
